    It is a good choice. It does not let water through, and in combination with waterproof pants, with relatively few dollars, you have made a waterproof 'duck' that is difficult to get dirty even if it enters a 15cm mud puddle.
    The only point that seems to suffer is the little metal pieces on the cord. From the first use, they came out of their place, but that is a small issue compared to the overall good it offers.
