Description

The new epic by the master storyteller Ken Follett is not to be missed: it is not just a simple thriller, but a gripping dramatic novel with relentless action that unfolds from one end of the world to the other and is set in the current era of fragile balances. Follett's new voluminous novel is an absolutely realistic and richly detailed story that you will wish never happens… Ever.

The author himself explained how he was inspired to write Never – which deviates from the historical novels he has become famous for over the past decades worldwide:

“When I was researching Fall of Giants, I was amazed to realize that World War I was a war that nobody wanted. No European leader on either side intended for it to happen. But emperors and prime ministers, one after the other, made decisions - logical, moderate decisions - each of which brought us a small step closer to the most terrible conflict the world had ever known.

I concluded that it was all a tragic accident. And I wondered: Could the same thing happen again? And then I asked myself the question, could I write a story about it? In my story, what would be the equivalent of the assassination that triggered World War I? I interviewed people involved in decision-making at the highest possible level and asked what they consider to be flashpoints in the present time, in other words, the modern equivalents of Serbia or Alsace-Lorraine. The result was Never.”
