The author Erika Falk returns to her parental home, in the frozen fishing village of Fjällbacka, after the sudden death of her parents to find a community on the brink of tragedy. Her childhood friend Alex, whom she finds dead in her bathtub, is the starting point for a painful flashback to the past which will bring to light the buried secrets hidden beneath the idyllic facade of Fjällbacka and lead to a brave decision that will change Erika's life forever.
