Description
What is the role of (social) psychology today? Can it free itself from theoretical poverty and methodological rigidity and become a truly social and liberating science? According to our analysis, dominant (social) psychology, as taught in most universities, is characterized by the absence of critical thinking, the lack of social theory, and the sluggish transmission of standardized theoretical and methodological packages within the faded ideological wrapping of "objective science" - something that is also reflected in the way it ends up being applied as therapeutic practice. The texts included in this book outline and prefigure a different psychology. These are political texts that offer a provocative and penetrating perspective on a range of psychosocial issues; texts that are not interested in statistical correlations between variables, but instead dare to question and challenge established assumptions and perceptions, to disturb and create more problems than they solve.
