First of all, I have to say that it is exactly the same speaker as the old one with the new Logi logo. They were the only speakers with a clean USB connection that I found both times I was looking for something like that. The USB for power and the jack for sound are not convenient at all, especially at these prices, knowing that the sound adjustment will break in a year and, besides the crackling, there will also be distortion at low volumes.
They have the same good and relatively bass sound at all volumes. Their minimum volume is somewhat loud, but you can simply adjust the volume per application in your computer settings. I travel often and due to their size, I avoid taking them in my carry-on, but due to their durability, I am not afraid to put them in my checked luggage. Long cable, both from the USB to the right speaker and from the right to the left afterwards. They are really quiet when muted.
And one last thing, for those who make music: at full volume, they are useful for reference. Clean and crisp sound indeed, but with characteristics of a small home speaker.
Well in this case, what you give is what you get, let's not fool ourselves for the 15 euros that you will spend, you will get 15 euro speakers. This doesn't mean that they are bad, on the contrary, they are very good. They have a decently powerful sound and they don't distort in terms of build quality. If they fall on the floor, the floor will be the one to break, you should know that they are tanks. I recommend them if you want casual things and usually use headphones and simply want to relax your head
For their price, they do their job (I have them for a year and they haven't had any issues). Their major problem, however, is the following: they only have three volume levels 0, 1-8, and 9-100. I don't know if mine are faulty or if they are generally like this, but honestly, from 100 you lower the volume and nothing changes until you reach 8, where it lowers significantly to zero... The truth is, I wouldn't recommend them. You can spend 25€ and get the Creative Pebble V2, which are much better.
I don't understand why I should say something bad about these speakers. They are good and they do their job just fine. And for this price, what are we even discussing? I haven't listened to them in a long time, but if I were to listen to them again, it's unlikely that I would write something worse, something better is very likely. S.D.
Update 24/1/24!!!
I have had them since 2009 and they are still going strong.
They are the first 2.0 speakers from the company that I bought, along with speakers from four other companies that I had since my first computer.
They are decent speakers, they just needed to be a bit louder.
When they are at maximum volume, they sound slightly above average and you have to increase the volume of the PC.
They don't make any buzzing or hissing noises for me.
I have been satisfied and happy with them for 15 years and I don't use them much.
Note 1: I think I bought them for around 6.50-7.5 (I don't remember exactly).
Note 2: Not many speakers are available for so many years.
Note 3: If you didn't notice, the logo is new compared to the past...
Note 4: I am disappointed that some, despite being excellent speakers and having good sales, are discontinued when they shouldn't be. If they break, you won't find the same ones again.
4 stars because the speakers are excellent in terms of quality for their price.
Not 5 stars because personally, I would have liked them to be louder, but I am still satisfied and not complaining.
Regarding the "crackling" issue, I solved it by putting sellotape on the buttons of the right speaker. It is the buttons that crackle, not the speakers.
For their price, they are very satisfactory! Of course, the sound is not incredibly powerful but very good! Especially for laptops that have weak speakers!
Basically, it is an external USB sound card with built-in speakers. Their use eliminates the existing sound card.
The volume is not high and as it increases, distortion is created in the sound.
They come with a carrying case, but they do not fit in a classic laptop shoulder bag as they are not small in size.
The price is very attractive but I would only recommend them to someone who has a laptop and for some reason their speakers or sound card are not working.
The overall impression is mediocre.
Positives: Easy to carry with the provided case, powered directly from the USB port
Negatives: Eliminate the existing sound card, do not have high volume
For 10 euros, it's worth every penny!!!
Okayyyyy......you can't listen to them very loudly because they start to crackle, but the level and quality of sound they offer for such a price is very satisfying. And of course, the best part is that they are powered by the PC, so you can only listen to music with them on a picnic, for example, or on a bus trip :P
They also come with a nice carrying case.
Get them, they're okay (we're talking about laptops, of course, right?)
Pros: small and portable, powered by the laptop, practical carrying case
Cons: I can't think of anything for the price they have (good price for what they offer)
