Description

This book, written by a well-known architect with extensive experience in the relevant subjects, aims to fill the noticeable lack of suitable publications on bioclimatic architecture in Greek literature, balancing between specialized knowledge and the need for understanding the subject by the wider audience. The goal of the book is to demonstrate, in the simplest way possible, two important things that are often misunderstood: First, that the issue of "eco-logical" construction is not just another fashion "ism," but something much more permanent and substantial. Second, that architecture is unified and indivisible, without implying that every type of architecture is necessarily sustainable. The first part of the book presents the architect's unique perspective on bioclimatic design issues and the rich relationship between tradition and bioclimatic architecture. This is followed by the main part, divided into ten individual "Reasons," where each of the basic principles of bioclimatic architecture is thoroughly examined. The texts are accompanied by illustrations of Greek and foreign examples.
