Description

The Corsair Vengeance RGB RT is aimed at demanding computer users, such as gamers, professionals in the field of video and image processing, designers, and those who require high performance from their computer.

DDR4

DDR4 is the fourth generation of RAM memory technology for computers. It replaces DDR3 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 2133MT/s to 4800MT/s, response time (CAS Latency) from CL 9 to CL 22, while its capacity has increased up to 32GB per memory module.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger the size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for response time (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above characteristics should be compatible with our motherboard specifications.

The Corsair Vengeance RGB RT provides speed at 3600MT/s, with CL16 and 8GB per memory module.

Compatibility

The DDR4 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Specifically, DDR4 is compatible with Intel Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake series processors and the latest Intel processors, as well as AMD Ryzen and Threadripper series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to make sure that your motherboard supports DDR4 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

The XMP & EXPO is a technology that allows us to increase the frequency and performance of our computer's memory, without the need for manual settings. (XMP/EXPO) is easily activated from the BIOS, is available in certain RAM memories, and is supported by certain motherboards.

The Corsair Vengeance RGB RT has (XMP 2.0/EXPO) profiles with the following specifications:

  • Speed (XMP/EXPO): 3600 MT/s
  • CAS Latency (XMP/EXPO): 16-20-20-38
  • Voltage (XMP/EXPO): 1.35V

RGB Lighting

The RGB lighting in the Vengeance RGB RT series features all the means and functions to create a unique and impressive look on your computer.

This can be achieved either through the software provided by the company, iCUE, or with compatibility with Sync Up software provided by motherboard companies. The advantage of Sync Up is that we can synchronize the RGB lighting of the entire computer.

The Vengeance RGB Pro is compatible with Asus Aura, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, and MSI Mystic Light software.

Cooling & Design

Aluminum Heat Sink

The aluminum material of the heat sink keeps the memory RAM at a sufficiently low temperature even during the most demanding operations.

This review is about the capacity: 32 GB

I upgraded from 2 x 8GB 2666Mhz CL16 to these after 7 years. The requirements of Windows 11, games, and especially the programs I use daily (VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, Pycharm, and about 10 other background applications) led me to these gems.

They worked right away on a brand new Asus Rog Strix B550-F Gaming WIFI II when I installed them and changed the profile from Default to D.O.C.P: #1 Profile through the BIOS, as indicated on the memory sticks, to 3600Mhz 16-20-20-35.

As you can see in the photos below, they are beautiful, affordable (compared to the equivalent GSkill ones at 115-120 euros), and reliable. They passed a 40-minute test from memtest86+ (https://memtest.org/). In the coming months, I will report some statistics on 2-3 games for those interested in gaming performance.

I hope the Corsair application (iCUE v.5) doesn't start self-destructing like it did with the company's fans (3 x Corsair QL120 at 100 euros) in the past. For now, I set a couple of colors and won't touch it for a while; I've been afraid of it for the past year.

I will provide updates on any new developments.

Value for money memories AND good performance + beautiful RGB.
They worked right away on XMP on Asus Prime B550 Plus with Ryzen 5700X.

I bought them at the end of November for 134 euros, now I see they have dropped even more.

Let's talk about performance: Out of the box, they are already good, 3600 tCL 16, but the tRCD is a bit high.
Their timings "indicate" that they are Micron.
And indeed, the sticker on the memory said "Rev 3.31", which for Corsair means Micron.
Specifically, I was lucky and got Micron Rev. E 8Gb, 2-rank configuration, which is great, well-known and tested for overclocking on Ryzen with good results and at a reasonable price.

As I mentioned before, I was lucky because in this "Rev" code, Corsair uses both Micron Rev. E IC and Micron Rev. B IC. So it's a bit of a lottery what you will get.

And indeed, they work just fine, behaving like a "typical" Micron Rev. E, with their strengths and weaknesses.

If you want something more, and if you have the budget, go for a kit with guaranteed Samsung B-die. Although in my opinion, B-Die is not worth its price, it's better to spend your money elsewhere, for example, on a better graphics card.

Amazing memories!! 3600mhz with 16CL!! It's hard to find such a kit. They worked immediately at the recommended speeds on ASUS ROG STRIX B550 f gaming by enabling XMP. For someone interested in kits at these speeds and with RGB (we all know that RGB gives extra fps ?), I highly recommend them 100/100!
