Description

June Jones has never left Chalcot, the small English village where she grew up. Throughout her childhood, she was buried in a book and stuck to the side of her mother, who was the beloved librarian of the local library. Now, years after her mother's death, June has closed herself off in her memories, working in the same library. Shy and solitary, the thirty-year-old woman prefers to spend her time with her favorite books rather than venture out into the world.

When the municipal council announces its plans to close the library, June's world collapses. A group of eccentric regulars forms the Friends of Chalcot Library group to protest. Her old classmate Alex Chen returns to the village and offers to help.

Will June manage to step out of her comfort zone and save the only place where she has the sweetest memories? Books mean so much to her, but is she willing to make changes in her life and face new challenges? By fighting for her beloved library, she might just save herself as well.

A novel about the joy of reading and the love of books!
