Good range and speed, but I also face the same problem that has been mentioned. After some time, it gets stuck in the socket and doesn't let you connect. The only way is to restart it. Probably overheating. It doesn't happen very often, but it's annoying.
I had the exact same problem with another tp link repeater, the cheaper one from the company. This one, of course, does it more frequently, I think. I bought this one because I thought the other one was broken, but it seems to be a general issue.
UPDATE 3/9/2022: Guys, it's not worth buying. It disconnects frequently and you have to unplug it and plug it back in.
UPDATE 24/9/2022: I contacted tp link about the problem and they sent me some instructions with settings. I tried the first solution they suggested and so far, the problem hasn't occurred again. Of course, the weather is not as hot anymore, so we'll see how it goes. For now, I'm changing the rating and we'll see. For those who have the same problem, I'm uploading the company's instructions for them to see -> [link]
UPDATE 17/7/2023: Unfortunately, the problem remains no matter what I do.
305 tp-link tapo syncs easily even when there is a power interruption as it reconnects on its own. It helps that it is perforated on the sides and does not overheat because the previous models, which were closed type, overheated during the hot hours of the day at noon, and the other ones worked because I have placed it outside on the balcony under the awning, of course, to avoid getting wet. We have brought the internet from the living room to the balcony, and from the balcony, it transmits to the ground floor in the parking lot 6 floors down, and the security camera works comfortably. I have a 100 Mbps internet connection, and it ends up around 20 Mbps on the ground floor, while with the previous one, it would disconnect at noon. It costs 10 to 12€ more than the previous one, but it is worth it when you need it for long distances
It does its job, at least for now. However, within a few minutes of use, the device gets very hot, to the point where I don't know how much it can withstand. When I shut down the computer, I unplug it just in case.
In the 1 year that I have it, it has frozen 2-3 times, either you unplug it and plug it back in, or you restart the router and it's fine. For the use I need it for, this didn't bother me since it's very rare. I recommend it.
I have bought one for my house and one for my grandmother's house. Both have worked without any issues by pressing the WPS button. Very easy to install and I have not encountered (yet) any issues with the devices.
I bought this product to connect it to the router on the floor below. The signal light is red. It doesn't catch signal on a floor distance, however, the smart devices connected while before they didn't. In the other rooms, it doesn't catch signal. Changing the evaluation by placing its antennas horizontally, the signal light turned blue, which means very good signal
I have had it for about 1 month. Absolutely satisfied with the choice, it synced immediately and has been working perfectly ever since. And very economical...
Simply after three years of intensive use, it started to lag. Why? Because it is set to maximum coverage, while it is not necessary. Adjust it to the minimum so that each floor is served by one, and you're good to go.
Perfect - I set the same SSID for the router and the 2 extenders and they work perfectly whether on 2.4 or 5 - each device chooses what it wants. Easy and the mobile application is even easier
Recent upgrade from 24 Mbps to 50 Mbps with Cosmote! Easy setup through the application by following the steps! Many options such as different name or password for each GHz option, 2.4 or 5! Blocked list...if you have blocked someone, etc. Super-duper range of 8 meters with walls, the extender in the middle, 5 signal bars on the 5 GHz! In terms of performance and speed...I simply lost the ball! It never dropped below 50 Mbps even once! The photos speak for themselves! Absolutely love it!
Very easy to set up. Without even using a computer, just with the mobile app, it's ready in 15 minutes.
I use it as an access point to have network on another floor from where the router is located.
But even as an extender, which I initially tried, it works great.
I definitely recommend it as it is easy and affordable for dual band!
