Description

The death of a seventeen-year-old comes to disrupt the life of a mountain village. The residents will easily believe that an entity wandering in the forest is responsible. They consider their village to have been haunted for many years. The investigations will intensify when the father receives a phone call and hears the voice of his dead child. The case is taken on by private investigator Gabriel Gakos.

Everyone is innocent and guilty at the same time, as three more murders will shock them. Who is hiding behind the mask of the Scorpion? A shadow from the past or someone living in this small community?

The tall trees of the mountain were covered in white snow, like cotton, and the wooden houses in the snowy landscape looked as if they were painted on a white canvas. From this height, Kastrí could be seen from end to end. The village was surrounded by towering trees and mountains – as far as the eye could see. In the dense forest, the ravine could also be seen. The line of water appeared and disappeared every so often, tracing zigzags under the trees. Somewhere there was the spot where the body of Demis Polyvios was found. What a sad thought to have while looking at this pristine and serene landscape...

A book that you want to read in one day.. it keeps your interest, it is easy to read, and you feel like you are living it. Nice plot and nice characters, with Gabriel Gako being my favorite. I am looking forward to the author's next book!

It was good overall in terms of style and writing, but the plot didn't say much. It almost hit a lull somewhere in the middle and I stopped caring about Detective Gakos, his past, and the personal problems that plagued him. The ending was probably awkward and rushed.

Nice guy, officer Gakos, good suspense until the end, interesting personal story of the protagonist but the solution to the mystery was a bit... silly.

Enjoyable, full of suspense and twists. I read it very quickly, the plot kept me engaged. It's not so much a crime novel, but more of a mystery.

Scorpio is the first novel by a new emerging author. It is a crime novel with many social elements. It keeps you on edge until the end with tremendous suspense, where a huge twist awaits you. For a first book, I consider it an excellent start and believe that Haris Karathymios has a lot to offer to the field.

This is a hidden gem. The best crime novel I have ever read in my life. Full of suspense, atmospheric, with believable dialogues, and well-crafted plot where every detail plays its role. Superior to the translated Scandinavian ones circulating in the Greek market.

I read it in two days. Even though it was 450 pages, I didn't realize when it ended. I became so attached to the protagonist of the book that I was deeply moved at certain points. I'm not a fan of detective stories, but I enjoyed reading it and it didn't bore me for a moment.
