The cooler from Noctua is active, which means it uses a fan to reduce the processor's temperature. Additionally, its low profile allows it to be installed in small-sized cases. With just 23.6dB of noise, this cooler makes minimal noise and won't distract you.

The L9 is extremely well-made, a cooler for special missions. Unfortunately, with the included fan, it is not what we call silent everywhere and always, marginally better than Intel's inbox cooler. Adding another 25mm fan improves performance and noise levels, but at the same time, the price/performance ratio becomes even worse. Overall, it delivers what it promises (albeit at a somewhat high cost).
I have no words to describe how good this low profile cooler from Noctua is... Let me start with the packaging, as soon as you open it, it feels like you've received an expensive jewel... It comes with high-quality thermal paste (Noctua), an adapter, and 4 screws... The fan is already mounted on top as soon as you open the packaging... The installation is literally the easiest I've seen on any other cooler... It is 100% compatible with ALL RAM, ideal for mini-ITX systems and more, and it performs efficiently... I have it on an Intel Core i5 6600K with an overclock at 4.3, without touching any voltages, and it keeps it at 28-29 degrees on idle!!!! The 92mm fan is PWM and reaches 2300rpm... It is definitely the best choice for the 53 euros I bought it for... Highly recommended without a doubt!!!!!!!!!!!!
In a narrow box with 0 air flow, the Intel cooler reached 80 degrees Celsius, while with the Noctua it stayed at 60 degrees Celsius, and we're talking about summer temperatures of 35++ degrees Celsius! The noise is audible but at reasonable levels. I didn't expect it, I was very satisfied!
Very good cooler, excellent quality and performance -14 degrees.
