Description

In an era dominated by global enlightenment, someone persists in traveling within the limited boundaries of Europe. Who is the persistent and unrepentant traveler of the European peninsula?
Is it a daily commuter?
Is it a bird? Is it only the thought that flies from place to place? And what is its means, the airplane, the train, the ship, the cursor?

The poetic narrative of Zisis Kotiwnis is titled "Trans Europe Express" after the eponymous, now abolished, railway network in Central Europe during the '70s and '80s. Successive places, large-scale geographical routes, host the unfolding of small scenarios and settlement events.
The events become possible only because there are places and the distance between them. The places emerge, become real through the events, acquire meaning through the distance that separates them, and finally sink into the oblivion of their geographical thoroughness.

In these European routes, the Greek space is the most frequent intermediary or destination.
Not at all coincidental, if we think of the narrative as coming from an indoor traveler who constantly looks towards the sea.
