If we had let capitalism collapse in 2008, could it have been replaced today by a truly free and fair society? What would it look like? Who would build it?
We are in 2025. Four years after the pandemic, three friends accidentally discover that in 2008 spacetime split into two trajectories. Our own. And another Now, where the events of 2008 took a completely different turn, leading to a world similar to ours but remarkably democratized. Without bosses. Without banks. Without stock exchanges. Without digital giants. Without billionaires. Without state autocracy.
The three friends - American Eva, a neoliberal economist; English Iris, a Marxist-feminist and perpetual dissenter; and Cretan Kostas, a genius digital technology engineer who despises the power of Big Tech - study with their mouths wide open the global techno-rebellion of 2009-2013 that, in the Other Now, gave birth to the international post-capitalist conjuncture. They obsessively examine the parallel society where companies belong equally to all workers, basic income and a basic inheritance are rights of every person, housing is socialized, and markets are freer now that capitalism is dead. Somewhere along the way, however, the three friends are faced with a tough decision that brings them face to face with a ruthless dilemma.
Radical both in form and vision, The Other Now combines scientific imagination and Platonic dialogue with literature to show that there is an alternative to capitalism, while at the same time confronting us with the greatest question: How far are we willing to go to conquer it?

For any Greek who has the willingness to open their mind and understand that there are alternatives to the dystopia we live in.
