The Church is the secret Body of the God-Man Christ, and we are all members of the Church, clergy and laity. The Church as the Body of Christ prays for the whole world. It is concerned with the salvation of all people. However, it celebrates the Divine Liturgy only with faithful Orthodox Christians, that is, those who have received holy Baptism and holy Chrismation. They constitute the members of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. They constitute the people of God.

The Divine Liturgy is the public worship of all the faithful. This worship is offered by the people of God and the priest celebrant, to God. Its divine gift and its salvific fruit, that is, the redemptive Sacrifice, is for all of us who constitute the people of God. Therefore, the Divine Liturgy is performed by the people of God for the people of God.
