Description

What do we know about Greek Thrace and our Muslim fellow citizens? What separates us and what unites us?

Dealing with the Muslim minorities of Thrace is one of the last taboo topics for Greek society. It touches sensitive chords. It reminds us of the mistakes and missed opportunities in handling this issue, both from the Greek and the Turkish side.

The authors of the book, motivated by social concerns, seek to introduce these "unknown" fellow citizens to the rest of Greece. They manage to break the barrier of the Muslim society and live with these people for two years, documenting their daily lives and discussing with them both their internal problems and the issues that separate them from the official Greek state. What the creators saw, heard, and experienced is captured in a volume that goes beyond presenting exceptional photographs, combining them with social reporting and research.
