Relatively easy opening with the small protrusion it has, but it would be better if you could open it with one hand. It fits a small-sized pacifier, like a newborn's, without any volume or rings that some have. It would be convenient if it also accommodated larger pacifiers! I have put it in the microwave and sterilized a different brand pacifier from the one that was in the box when I bought it, it sterilizes perfectly fine and quickly, but I haven't looked into whether it works for all pacifiers like this or if it's only for the one that comes with the package.
