What is the history of the middle class in the West after World War II? What is its relationship with consumption, individualism, and emancipation? How did we reach its now ubiquitous existential crisis? What is the historical course of the middle strata in Greece from the 60s onwards? Through what experiences was the social contract of the post-dictatorship middle class formed? How is the Greek family both its habitat and its condemnation? Is there still any identity of the middle strata in our country, or have they been fragmented into opposing micro-communities of people who struggle to coexist today in places of social and emotional desertion? Will the pandemic crisis confirm the inequalities that govern the relationships of members of the old middle class in Greece, or will it prove to be an opportunity for a new social and cultural convergence?
