In Crete, during the Occupation, Natalia Papaderou works in the office of the German general Breuer, who particularly appreciates that the girl speaks his language fluently and likes his homeland, without suspecting that both she and her fiancé Konstantinos are organized in the Resistance.

At the same time, Patrick Leigh Fermor and Stanley Moss, leading a large group of Cretans, plan the abduction of the German general Müller. Suddenly, the resistance activities of Natalia and Konstantinos are revealed, and the two young people flee to the mountains of Anogeia, pursued by Breuer. 

However, the German will face more serious problems, as Leigh Fermor and Stanley Moss finally manage to kidnap General Kreipe, Müller's replacement.
As time goes by, Natalia's certainty grows that the world is transforming rapidly and that the entire sky is turning into a sparkling mosaic of stars…
