Why should an elementary school child have their own dictionary, an elementary school dictionary?

· It meets their needs in language class (interpretation of words and expressions, spelling, synonyms, antonyms, etymology, etc.).
· They refer to it in every lesson whenever they encounter an unknown word.
· They use it when writing texts of any kind (an essay, a letter to a friend, etc.). This way, they learn to use words and expressions correctly and understand the difference in meanings.
· With frequent use of the dictionary, they gradually become aware of the function of language, how concepts of time, place, cause, purpose, etc., are expressed, how a concept or a logical relationship can be expressed in different ways, and the difference in style (we express ourselves differently in spoken language, written language, formal meetings, etc.).
· By knowing their native language well, the child is equipped to learn foreign languages more easily and deeply, which is an essential skill in their life.
· By frequently using the dictionary, they come into contact with example phrases from literary works, thus being motivated to read literary or other books. From their contact with literature, the child sees new worlds open up before them, becoming creative.
· With all the above, they manage to express themselves correctly, dynamically, and richly. A person who thinks and expresses themselves correctly and dynamically is a successful person in every aspect of their life.
