It worked fine on a 2.5-inch SSD. It didn't work on a 3.5-inch HDD that was connected. Possibly due to power supply, but I didn't bother further
I connected it to the USB port of my computer but it didn't work. I realized that the power supply voltage from a USB port was not enough for it. So, I got a "USB splitter cable" where one end had a female USB (like the port on the PC), while the other end branched into two male USBs, which I connected to two USB ports on my PC. I connected the provided adapter cable to the female end of the USB splitter. With this connection, the hard drive I connected was accessed immediately, as the adapter was powered by two USB sources.
It works correctly without any problem. The quality of the external plastic is not the best, as expected at this price.
Do not buy it.. It does not work on Windows 10 Home version 21H2, which I tried. However, it works fine on Linux Lubuntu flavor. The disk is not the problem because I tested it on an old SATA to USB enclosure and Windows read it correctly. But when I connect it with this specific adapter, the file explorer crashes.
The job was done, I am satisfied but the cable was not working. Luckily, I had a cable from an external hard drive that fit and everything was fine. Just keep that in mind.
Small and elegant. Easily fits in a bag and you're good to go. Personally, I used it for Windows migration from HDD to SSD and the file transfer is quite fast since it's USB 3.0. I would highly recommend it.
!!! I should add that it only supports 2.5" drives!!!!
Very good and user-friendly product, I connected it to my ps4 with an ssd and it worked directly without drivers, just plug and play. I didn't test the speeds by putting it in my computer, but it is much faster than the hard drive that comes with the console. It is definitely worth more than getting a regular external hard drive, it deserves its 5-star rating.
