Conference proceedings on Nikolaos G. Politis and the Folklore Center of the Academy of Athens. N. G. Politis (1852-1921) was the founder of the Folklore Archive (1918, now the Folklore Center). In the 44 texts of the two volumes of the proceedings, written by expert scientists, researchers, and academics, the scientific thought, social and political actions of N. G. Politis that led him in his mature age to the founding of the Folklore Archive with the aim of systematic collection and scientific study of folklore material are examined.
