In the face of the global crisis of capitalism, both the principle "movement is everything, the goal is nothing," that is, a tactic without strategy, and that of "all or nothing," that is, a strategy without tactics, lead to a deadlock.

Also, the deposit of hopes for a better tomorrow in the spontaneous popular movement alone leads to a deadlock.

With these data, the necessity of developing a reflection on the path that will lead us to the necessary revolution, the overthrow of the capitalist system responsible for the crisis, arises immediately.

This is the only solution to escape from barbarism and a prerequisite for transforming the curse of the expulsion of living labor from production into a blessing.

The strategy of position warfare by Gramsci, this great "theorist of revolution in the West," despite its contradictions, weaknesses, one-sided appearances, and despite its reformist exploitation until now, may be the best starting point for us to resume the thread of revolutionary reflection regarding developed capitalist countries and to identify this path.

Following Gramsci, during this war considered as a prelude to revolution, the modern working class, drawing strength from its defeats so far, and with its main weapons being its party, the popular front, and the formation of new labor institutions, is called upon, through its struggle, to exploit the contradictory consequences of the crisis in shaping popular consciousness, with the aim of dismantling bourgeois ideological hegemony and building its own.

In this way, and in combination with favorable objective conditions, it is possible to resolve the dilemma of socialism or barbarism in favor of the former.
