Description

Half a century after the Battle of the Apocalypse, the uncertain balance of the Dark Forest Deterrence keeps the Trisolarian invaders at bay. Earth enjoys unprecedented prosperity due to the dissemination of Trisolarian knowledge. As human science evolves daily and the Trisolarian adopt Earthly culture, it seems that the two civilizations will be able to coexist peacefully without the dreadful threat of mutual and certain annihilation.
However, all this is nothing but an illusion and soon the balance will be overturned again. The final volume of the Trisolaran Trilogy follows the story of humanity and the Trisolarians to an end that neither race could have imagined... An end that coincides with the death of the universe itself!

  • I bought it before I even finished The Dark Forest, as I couldn't not learn the continuation.

850 satisfying pages of pure science fiction with action, suspense, twists, descriptions, character building, and philosophical existential questions about the beginning and the end of humanity and the universe-time.

The author's style remains consistent with the previous two books of the trilogy.

It is remarkable how he manages to advance so far into the future and in technologies, composing them in such a solid and believable way. When you read it, you think this is how human civilization will evolve in the distant future; it convinces you.

What I would have liked more was for him to have dedicated more time to more detailed descriptions regarding the impact of all these events on the masses of people on Earth, how they experienced them, because we are talking about shocking changes.

Excellent translation by the "legendary," I would say now, translator & author Ep. Fan, Thomas Mastakouris.

Hint: I particularly enjoyed and was left with the "interruption" of the 3 fairy tales and how they were integrated into the plot and the development.
