This book is an effort to add another small stone to the great life struggle that the Douma family, and primarily Thodoris, are fighting.

Today, twenty-five-year-old Thodoris suffers from the fatal Batten disease, having so far defied medical predictions and statistics that speak of a life expectancy of less than 20 years. He is the only child worldwide with this disease who attends university classes. He is a student at the Agricultural University of Athens.

Although there is no cure so far, enlightened scientists at university hospitals in the USA are conducting research on the highly promising gene therapy, having made significant progress. Although there are no other patients of Thodoris's age, scientists are optimistic that soon they will be able to offer Thodoris the hope of a life-saving treatment.

An additional obstacle – the high-cost maintenance therapy that Thodoris receives and the enormous financial expense required for the transition and application of the therapy in America – will try to be covered by the sales of this book.
