    The base has a very short neck and can only be used on the edge of a surface, such as on the desk edge in the photos you see, only on a completely flat surface, not curved at all. It rarely fits in a car, but think about it yourself. I bought it for a special use outside the car, so I had taken that into account from the beginning.
