The only function that seems to not work properly is the one with the specific humidity setting. While the humidity in the room is much higher than the setting you define for it to stop, it doesn't stop, resulting in the room having too much humidity. In a room with the low setting, it does an excellent job. Personally, I turn it on and set a timer for it to turn off after a few hours and it works very well. It helps a lot in a child's room with children suffering from coughs or laryngitis. A very decent value for money choice.

However, there is an important point that I did not know before purchasing it. Such types of humidifiers essentially convert water into tiny particles that easily float in the air. What comes out of the humidifier is a mist of small droplets, not evaporated water. This is not a problem under normal conditions. However, when the water you put in the humidifier is hard, it causes metals/salts and whatever else the water contains (including bacteria) to float in the air as well. The metals/salts make the atmosphere noticeably hazy, leave residues on surfaces in the house, and can potentially cause respiratory difficulties. As for microorganisms, it greatly depends on how often and thoroughly the device is cleaned and how clean the water is. However, this is still a concern.
Update: There was a period of time when I was not using the device, and now that I have reconnected it with my new phone (iPhone 14 pmax), it does not respond to the commands I give through the app, so it has stopped being smart.

The first problem is that when the room humidity is above the user-set limit, the dehumidifier does not stop working as it should. It remains stuck on idle but never shuts off, thus increasing the room humidity significantly. This is a bug that Xiaomi has not fixed. Only one piece I found managed to work properly, and that was for 6 months because now it gives very little steam even though I have it at maximum and clean it regularly. I have returned all of them and I am waiting for a refund. It's a shame because the machine is very convenient and I liked it a lot while it was working.

During the time I had it, though, it did a decent job in a room of about 18 square meters. However, its strongest operating mode was not as powerful as I expected, so I also placed a tilted USB fan next to it to distribute the "mist" much more effectively and quickly.
I don't know if it measures humidity or temperature correctly, since, as I said, the wifi function was dead, so I couldn't check it with its application. However, based on other meters in the room, it was able to increase humidity by 10% in 2-3 hours. In larger spaces, I imagine it could only "stand" together with the fan next to it for more effective diffusion.
Also, I don't know if it can be adjusted through the app to maintain a stable humidity level in the room, but without the app, you need to open and close it or adjust the settings to maintain the desired humidity levels, which is not particularly practical.
