The G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 RAM is aimed at demanding computer users, such as gamers, professionals in video and image editing, designers, and those who require high performance from their computer.

The Trident Z Neo is specifically designed to operate in AMD systems, offering ideal performance and stability. However, they can also be used in Intel systems.

DDR4

DDR4 is the fourth generation of RAM technology for computers. It replaces DDR3 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 2133MT/s to 4800MT/s, latency (CAS Latency) from CL 9 to CL 22, while its capacity has increased up to 32GB per memory module.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger the size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for latency (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above characteristics should be compatible with the specifications of our motherboard.

The Trident Z Neo DDR4 provides speed at 3600MT/s, with CL16 and 32GB per memory module.

Compatibility

DDR4 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Indicatively, DDR4 is compatible with Intel Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake series processors and the latest Intel processors, as well as AMD Ryzen and Threadripper series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to ensure that your motherboard supports DDR4 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

XMP & EXPO is a technology that allows us to increase the frequency and performance of our computer's memory without the need for manual adjustments. (XMP/EXPO) is easily activated from the BIOS, is available on certain RAM modules, and is supported by certain motherboards.

RGB Lighting

The RGB lighting in the Trident Z Neo series offers all the means and functions to create a unique and impressive look for your computer.

You can achieve this either through the software provided by the company, Trident Z Lighting Control, or with compatibility in Sync Up software provided by motherboard companies. The advantage of Sync Up is that we can synchronize the RGB lighting of the entire computer.

The Trident Z Neo is compatible with Asus Aura, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, MSI Mystic Light, and ASRock Polychrome Sync software.

Cooling & Design

The aluminum heatsink material, with its design including fins for heat dissipation, keeps the memory at a fairly low temperature even during the most demanding operations.

Well, it's one of the best RAM for Ryzen 3000 series. It was purchased for 160€. I paired it with an Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming motherboard and Ryzen 7 3700X, and it worked flawlessly. Don't forget to enable D.O.C.P in the BIOS to run at 3600mhz c16-16-16-36. I haven't tried overclocking yet, but I'm sure I can lower the timings with minimal voltage. Overall, they are very beautiful and high-quality. The reason I chose these over the corresponding capacity and speed of G.Skill Royal Silver is 1. the price and 2. because these are optimized for Ryzen. Also, I forgot to mention above that I can control the RGB through Aura. I highly recommend them.

First of all, 64GB is too much, unless you know what you're going to use them for... 32GB is enough and you will never fill them.

I put them in an ASUS WS X570-ACE motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X - even though the motherboard did not have them on the qualified list, the memories did.

These specific ones are expensive because besides the speed, they also have good latency.

So, these memories are mainly intended for this AMD Ryzen.

For the first time, I achieved the speed they claim without the system freezing, almost perfectly stable... it froze once but it may be due to the graphics card...

Until now, any other memories I put in other computers in the past always had stability issues and I had to lower the speed a bit to avoid them. With these, I have none - which I did not expect, the system is absolutely stable, and it works flawlessly continuously, opening heavy applications and games...

The BIOS read them instantly in terms of speed and latency...

In AIDA 64, for the first time in my benchmarks, my memories are at the top, and only systems with more cores and less latency surpass them.

In the end, even this memory didn't escape - for absolute stability, I lowered the frequency to 3533... (from 3600) and we'll see...
