The Left is increasingly identified with the elites of the ruling political class and with the privileged aristocracy, while the feelings of insecurity and anxiety of the lower classes find refuge in "populist" parties; parties for which the "progressive" establishment expresses its contempt in such a systematic and malicious way. Such a display of vanity and contempt towards the popular classes reminds us of the behavior of the members of the aristocracy shortly before the outbreak of the French Revolution. Then, as is known, many of them paraded past the guillotine. Could it be that today's ruling classes are dancing in the shadow of a volcano? We observe the manifestation of a series of factors that presage unprecedented developments, not necessarily peaceful.
