Description

A revealing book about the things that dominant discourse tells us and are not true, regarding the Greek crisis.

We produce almost nothing as a country. We consume more than we produce.

Greek capitalism is distorted, underdeveloped, and dependent. There is no working class in Greece. Trade unions are to blame for everything. After the transition, the prevalence of leftist ideology was inevitable, demonizing the private sector, entrepreneurship, and profit.

Competitiveness depends crucially on labor costs. The big state is at the root of the "Greek" crisis. We are lost outside the euro; our bargaining power is zero.

These and many other "obvious" things of dominant discourse, and therefore of public discussion in Greece, are judged and investigated in this book. Not as a philological concern of certain commentators interested in "truth," but as part of an active and relentless social conflict from the side of the dominant.

In the heart of a total social war, in which the fate of the working humanity seems to be at stake, everyone chooses a side. Open, democratic, and reasoned discussion is attempted to be considered a dangerous luxury, suitable for other times, but not in this state of emergency for the nation, for the homeland, for the system - for every nation, for every homeland, for one system. They are right; it is not a luxury, but it is very dangerous.
