  Well, as the owner of the previous v685 and previously the v475, I switched to the v6a and I will start with the negatives. The first impression in hand is bad because you realize that you have lost 2 kilograms of material as the new one is lighter. The plastic front panel under light shows a black mess and needs to be covered with a membrane so that it does not look like it has scratches. The other caps are almost like playing cards, meaning that if you unscrew one, the other may fall into the void, and for me, it is obvious that I will open them preventively every year because I have a pet at home. The menu, if you have learned the older Yamaha models, will seem like a nightmare, really without the application and the remote control, it is difficult to operate advanced features only with the selection button on the front panel, while the ip interface menu is even more difficult. Also, you should know that during periods of correct pricing, the amplifier has dropped to 450€ in a well-known store, but the way things are, I don't believe we will see it again below 550€, and I would say that 550€ is a lot because with a little more you can get an entry into the aventage series. The most important thing is that in atmos, the volume drops significantly, meaning that the dialogues are very low and the front and back sounds are overshadowed in every effect, which is indeed very cinematic but ultimately does not allow you to watch a movie with atmos at low volume because you can't hear the conversations, so by increasing the volume, you wake up the neighbors in action scenes, you can confirm this on many sites if you search for it, and that's why I kept the soundbar because the atmos does not affect its volume unlike the av receivers.

  Moving on to the positives... And here is a bomb of possibilities and information. I really don't know what the future holds for the next 5-10 years to end my dependence on the v6a. The right entertainment center, streaming, and wireless audio. I was ready for the v4 but the 100w 8ohm convinced me to be patient and get the v6a. However, I believe that with 600-700€ you can get good sound in Denon, but if you learn Yamaha, it's hard to leave because the enemy of Yamaha is again Yamaha. Get it for the power, the sound, the online and wireless functions, the PS5, and the HDMI 2.1. I have a hard time finding a clear opponent because there are many points of superiority! However, it is not worth investing in atmos because it will disappoint you. If someone has found the solution, then please share it with us. I'm glad I kept my old one because although my old one may not have atmos, in dd+ the volume on the center speaker was as much as you wanted it to be and allowed you to go overboard

  It simply paints!!! I have paired it with the beautiful Clipsch R 620 F and the central R 52 C. The sound that comes out is clear and crystal clear both in movies and music. I used to have a Yamaha AX-500. It was very powerful. It is a good choice, I highly recommend it to you. At 1/3 of the volume, it has a magical sound. Download the app and enjoy it!!! 5 stars are not enough. For those who listen to louder volumes, get the Clipsch R 820 F. Enjoy listening...

  I have changed 5 AV amplifiers in the last 16 years, with the latest being the Denon AVR X1400H. In a few words, the already existing 5.1 speaker setup consisting of B and W, Magnat, and Yamaha has been transformed. The same speakers play much cleaner, louder, and more vibrant than before. It gave me the feeling that I had different speakers. Incredible sound whether you listen to music at low volume or watch movies with DTS, DD, atmos, etc. Bravo to Yamaha, an incredible machine, worth every penny and more.

  P.S.: The multi-channel stereo mode is incredibly good, as well as the micro dot matrix front panel that shows many operational details, very discreetly beautiful. The overall appearance is completely premium.

  Excellent internet radio with many features, various platforms, 2.1 HDMI ports, 4K resolution, and upcoming 8K upscaling update. It performs satisfactorily in terms of music and excels in showcasing its grace in movies with all audio formats. I consider it to be a very good machine and I am satisfied with it.

  I have had the amplifier in my hands for 2 whole days and I have been using it extensively, in a positive way. Coming from an almost decade-old AV amplifier, the RX-V6A gave me a cultural shock. It has a large number of digital conveniences. Even larger is the number of network functions where it excels. Yamaha's free application, musiccast, praises the machine. Everything, and I mean everything, can be controlled easily through the mobile phone, and the amplifier's remote control is simply not needed.
  The sound is very satisfactory, colored, full, and with good power.
  It does not have many analog inputs, as it focuses more on the digital side.
  7 HDMI inputs are more than enough to connect Blu-ray players, game consoles, etc.
  In a few words, and without wanting to elaborate further, for its price, it is fan-tas-tic.

  I would also like to add the excellent service provided by Yamaha's dealership in Greece, from all perspectives.
  The amplifier went for service as there was a problem with one of its functions. This problem was present in all amplifiers, from any brand, manufactured in 2020 and using a specific circuit that was faulty. In a communication I had with the service, they provided me with the necessary information, and after a few hours, I had my amplifier back with a replaced motherboard, and it works perfectly!
