Pathfinder is a franchise of Tabletop RPG similar to Dungeons & Dragons.

This game plays like the namesake campaign of the series, where in the first half you play as a typical RPG like Baldur's Gate, and from the middle onwards you become a king and have to manage your kingdom and army.
Story-wise, you are a character from a handful of adventurers who were called by an Aldori Swordlord (swordsmen with great power) to conquer the disputed region of the Stolen Lands, which is being trampled by a group of bandits. As a reward, they will help you financially to establish a kingdom, which neighboring countries will recognize.

The game forgets that it is a video game and operates with the rules of the Tabletop. This means that everything is measured by dice rolls, and you have to do the math for your statistics in your head. For example, a simple attack with a simple weapon can include 1d8 dice roll + 3 from your statistics + 4 from some other bonus that exceeds the opponent's AC (Armor Class), which could be +2 from Dexterity +7 from armor, all just to hit them, with damage calculated by other dice rolls and statistics, without getting into subcategories like Saving Throws and Damage reductions.
It is as cumbersome as it sounds, and if you don't already know the rules from experience with the Tabletop, you will find it very difficult. It's like the game will roll for a high jump, for chances of success or failure in everything you do, making it difficult to understand if you are doing something wrong, especially at the beginning where 70 to 80% of your attacks will miss or do some funny 2 damage. The tutorials provided are not enough given the volume of rules and terminology you need to learn, which the game constantly describes only with initials so that you cannot immediately understand what it is about.
As if that wasn't enough, with all this luck, the game is mercilessly difficult, especially with all these dice rolls that can go wrong, even on Normal difficulty, and often throws enemies that are much higher level than you or require preparation that if you haven't done, you are doomed from the start. It is given that you will frequently save and quick save.
Also, the game plays with a time limit that runs when you travel or rest, something you will do often as you need to replenish for the journey and typically rest to reuse your spells.
Finally, the game offers 16 classes with 4 subclasses for each, and 7 Prestige Classes for those who meet the prerequisites, with the ability to multiclass, and believe it or not, your past, your origin, your profession, the god you serve, your race, the conditions of your birth, and whether you squeeze the toothpaste tube from the top or bottom all play a role.
Fortunately, they added a turn-based mode that is recommended for the more difficult battles.

The graphics are satisfactory. In the PS4 version, it is much more difficult to add a custom portrait to your character, which is very difficult to make resemble your photo, but it doesn't matter as 99% of the time you will see them from a top-down perspective from afar.
There is voice acting only in important dialogues and it is satisfactory, but where the game stands out is in the fantastic soundtrack.

The game is huge, with 100 hours of gameplay and endless replayability. The DLCs are included in the disc and seamlessly integrated into the playthrough as if they were part of the game from the beginning.

I recommend the game ONLY to those who have experience with Tabletop RPGs, preferably with Pathfinder. Others will need to study endless hours of online guides, and for that, I suggest the sequel "Wrath of the Righteous", which, although equally complex, is slightly more accessible in terms of tutorials and gradually introduces its mechanics.
