The Local Government on the island of Kea, or otherwise known as Tzia, has a rich history that begins from the early years after the Revolution. Initially, there were appointed Prefects and in 1834, the first Municipal elections took place in the new Greek state. Due to its extensive content, this work will be divided into 3 phases, which will constitute 3 independent volumes. The present Volume A will include the decisions of the Municipal Councils during the period 1870-1914, when there was one Municipality for the entire island. It will be followed by Volume B for the period 1914-1996, which will include the decisions of the Community Councils of the two Communities. Finally, Volume C from 1997-present, will include the decisions of the Municipal Councils after the merger, as well as the decisions of the Provincial Councils for the period 1995-2010, when the Regional Government was in operation.
