In recent years, Greece seems to have detached itself from economic stagnation and is now moving at a high rate of growth. Convergence towards the Economic and Monetary Union of Europe, the exploitation of new cooperation opportunities in the Balkans, the change in the role of the state, and the modernization of its functioning constitute a new landscape for the developmental potential of our country.
By harnessing these new opportunities, Greece can establish a new perspective of social prosperity. However, in order to achieve this, we must overcome both the practices of statism and business inertia that have led to stagnation, as well as the professions for unilateral market dominance, which we have often seen causing extensive and insurmountable social costs.
The book describes a series of public policies for the reform of the welfare state, employment, privatizations, infrastructure, education, administration, and technology. These policies promote development and prosperity in our country and allow it to have a strong presence in the new international environment shaped by globalization, the emerging dynamics of the Balkans, and the monetary unification of Europe.
