What is today's global system? Where does it come from? In which explosive dead ends is it inevitably leading? This is, in general, the content of the new book by author and politician Sotiris Hatzigakis. What causes today's mass unemployment and inequalities? Could today's technological landscape be the catalyst that condemns the weak (unemployed, poor, marginalized) to a slow and painful death? By what logic are one person's needs considered to be worth as much as millions of others? What forces shape and move the new globalized framework and what does this imply for modern societies, peoples, countries, and our country? What is the new landscape shaped by the knowledge society, the new social "organizations," the new "capitalists"? How much can a system of "unrestrained and indiscriminate capitalism" endure? Where is humanity heading when its course is determined by one-way economic theories? The book highlights, promotes, and establishes a different social culture: one that values the human factor more than economic indicators. "The modern world needs a deep revolutionary reform," says the author, "that will radically change and transform our attitudes towards life and our ways of thinking. People are tired of the ruleless, insatiable capitalism, financial capital, and fierce competition. Perhaps we need a new, different Bretton Woods that will make the world move more fairly and productively, within the framework and pace of the social market economy system."
