Description

The forensic pathologist Paul Herzfeld, an expert in violent crimes, discovers a note with his daughter's phone number inside the skull of a horribly mutilated corpse.
Hannah, the seventeen-year-old daughter of the forensic pathologist, has been kidnapped. A relentless hunt for bodies begins as her father follows the clues prepared for him by her psychopathic kidnapper. The next body with clues is found on the distant island of Helgoland.
The island has been cut off due to severe weather and has been evacuated by most of its inhabitants. Among the few people remaining there is a comic book artist, Linda, who discovered the body on the shore. In his desperation and without access to the clues, Herzfeld has only one option: to convince Linda to perform the autopsy following his instructions over the phone.

Linda has never touched a scalpel and has no idea how an autopsy is done. But she will soon realize that she has no other choice. Because the life of a young girl is not the only one at risk...

Perfect psychological thriller from a powerful writing duo. Chilling details, you can't put it down! Among the best of Fitzek's works, after Therapy and The Package.

  • Perfect book. Powerful writing duo. One of the best psychological books I have read. It doesn't leave you indifferent. On the contrary. You want to read it, it keeps you in suspense.

  • Strong plot and vivid descriptions, especially harsh in the details. Quite good, but perhaps not for everyone.

The truth is that I got tired of the many details and it didn't meet what the reader asks for in such books, something to keep you in suspense throughout the story.

Once again, Fitzek maintains the evolving action on multiple levels, keeping the reader in constant suspense. I highly recommend his other books if you enjoy psychological thrillers!

It is not one of his best books. It tired me quite a bit and its ending is confusing.
