The downside in this case is that the connections between the rod and the hole are not so stable, so you will need to stabilize them, possibly using silicone to enter and sit firmly so that if you need to change their dimensions and go to smaller ones, you will not have to reassemble any rods that will definitely come out of their holes and you may bend them if you do not see that they have moved from their position.

  For lengths under 30 inches, the minimum adjustment of dimensions, e.g. to 40 or 20, remains stable.

  Many have mentioned the large gap between the rods, which is true, but I took the simplest solution. I cut a hard cardboard to the desired length, covered it with a membrane to avoid distortion from any liquids, and everything stands firmly, taking advantage of the entire surface, of course, paying attention to the weight that will be placed on it.

  Another positive is that because the dimensions are not stable and its use is not only as it appears in the photo, i.e. above a microwave oven, you can place your heaviest object underneath, as it will essentially rest outside the base and on top depending on the weight, a microwave, a kettle, and on top either spices or even a small toaster, and of course for those who are wondering how all this will work without constantly plugging and unplugging, the answer is with a power strip with a switch and the appropriate current load capacity with the corresponding positions and not more to avoid possible dust accumulation in the empty position with the risk of short circuit.

  For those who have trouble stabilizing the desired length and do not want it to be longer than necessary, they can tie it with a rope where they want the final length to be and not open it further, as the rope will be tight as it goes and will not allow dimensions to change.
  If you want additional stabilization of the base, you can put double-sided tape to support its feet with the surface you will place it on.
