The implementation of "School for All" requires, first and foremost, understanding disability. Only by studying its aspects will educators, psychologists, special educators, social workers, parents, and social partners be able to effectively address the educational needs of students with or without disabilities, as well as empower them psychosocially within the framework of inclusive education. This monograph focuses on intellectual disability in this direction. The presentation of contemporary research data and different scientific approaches will help every reader understand what intellectual disability truly is and how individuals with intellectual disabilities can be educated.
Specifically, this work is structured in two parts. The First Part attempts an interdisciplinary interpretation of the term "intellectual disability," as its complexity and historical trajectory - intertwined with human existence - make it necessary. The Second Part highlights themes related to the education of individuals with intellectual disabilities, as social coexistence with them is exclusively an educational matter.
