Fitting so much power into the same enclosure required an entirely new thermal architecture, which includes flash storage, a larger fan, extensive ventilation outlets, and a redesigned power supply.
The Mac mini features the Apple T2 Security Chip, a second-generation silicon chip specially designed by Apple to make the Mac mini even more secure. The T2 Security Chip integrates several controllers into one and includes a Secure Enclave coprocessor, which provides the foundation for secure boot capabilities and encrypted storage.
With a variety of ports, the Mac mini can be configured to perform many different tasks. The Thunderbolt 3 port is the most powerful and versatile port Apple has designed to date, and the Mac mini has four of them. The new HDMI 2.0 port provides greater bandwidth than its predecessor, so you can enjoy faster frame rates.

I have been a Mac mini owner since 2011 and I don't think I will switch to another machine anytime soon! I am absolutely satisfied with this model as well as the two previous ones I had! The only thing I would like to be different is the price. I believe Apple has gone overboard and - apart from the phones - is asking whatever it wants for the computers as well. In my opinion, the price should be around €1000 and not €1300+!!! Unfortunately, Windows doesn't come close to the user experience that MacOS offers me, so... you get what you pay for!
