Description
Aquilegia is a perennial plant. It has two names, Aquilegia or Columbine. It loves shady or semi-shady areas, while it suffers from the hot sun. The suitable temperature is that of April and May, around 16 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Generally, as a plant, it is easy to cultivate. It does not require special care if planted in fertile and hydrated soil. It should be fertilized in spring and again in autumn.
The word Aquilegia comes from the word Aquila, which means eagle, while the word Columbine comes from the Italian word Colomba, which means dove. Thus, Aquilegia or Columbine is also called the Flower of the birds.
