Description
The personality of Paracelsus overturned and then shaped the scientific way of thinking in the Middle Ages. He was a scholar and the founder of homeopathy. His contribution was such that in 1993 all European Universities, especially those in Switzerland, celebrated the 500 years since his death. Franz Hartmann provides information about his life and teachings in an extremely understandable way, so that the great Paracelsus can be understood by the average reader. After the biographical details, a summary of the 106 written works that have been preserved is given, followed by an interpretation of Paracelsus' terminology. Then, Hartmann summarizes and systematizes his teachings with the following chapters: Cosmology, Anthropology, Pneumatology, Magic, Medicine, Alchemy, Philosophy, and Theosophy.
