Description
BTW1040 toilet seat cover by Bormann, which you can use either to replace your old worn-out cover or to give your bathroom a sense of renewal. It features a slow-closing mechanism, which with a gentle push closes slowly and quietly, without needing to be manually lowered to the base of the toilet.
It is made of Bakelite, which essentially consists of boards coated with sheets of synthetic materials that resemble wood. The major advantages of Bakelite are that it has great durability over time, is easy to clean, and is resistant to stains and scratches.
Finally, the cover should remain closed after each use as this limits germs in the bathroom, while also preventing moisture from spreading in the space.

Very satisfied with the toilet lid. You leave it and it closes gently automatically without noise.
Good quality construction for the money you pay. I will try to help with the image of how it should be placed and in 10 minutes we will be ready.
1) We start with the black plastic-rubber round base (2 pieces) which is placed from the top side of the toilet in the 2 holes where we press it and it sits perfectly until the end.
2) Then we screw the top lid of the base by 90% and then we also put the lid of the toilet so that we center it and see where the lid fits well on our toilet, front, back, right, and left.
3) Then we AGAIN remove the lid of the toilet where we centered before AND now we screw tightly 100% (the remaining 10%) the top base with the cross-screwdriver. CAUTION, we NOW ALSO place the stainless steel round lid and we finish with the base.
4) We place the lid of the toilet on the 2 bases and as soon as it clicks, we are ready.

It has a system for easy installation, with screws that, when screwed in, increase the diameter on the rubber that enters the two holes of the toilet bowl and is supposed to tighten. Unfortunately, even with full tightening, because it relies on rubber, it cannot be properly stabilized and comes off its position (front-back and right-left). It would be better to have regular screws, even if I had to bend down for installation. The even worse thing is that in an upright position at 90°, the mechanism's spring for smooth closing slightly pushes the seat, causing it to fall. In other words, it should be positioned in such a way that when the lid and seat are raised, they have a much greater angle, above 90°, which may not be possible in all toilet bowls. Even if you manage to place it at an angle >90°, it will soon come off its position due to the first problem I mentioned. The only positive aspects are that it is made of bakelite (although it is not filled with material throughout its thickness) and there are diagrams with all its dimensions available on the internet.

In the second one, I struggled and after two hours I hadn't achieved much. I had to make a cut in the rubber with a knife to reduce the thickness and make them pass through the hole. The left one barely passed, the right one barely fit. And of course, the bowl is not stable.

Unacceptable support system, no matter how tight you squeeze it, it goes off track... I would rather bend over twice during installation and have a stable lid. Additionally, the closing system is frustratingly slow. If you want to close the lid before flushing (for example, because it splashes everywhere), it is frustratingly slow to close. It should close normally and the soft close should activate in the last 4-5 points and not from the beginning...

Very good product at a privileged price that unfortunately loses points due to the fake support system as almost all buyers have previously mentioned. For example, in my case, the rubber washers that hold the screws, besides being quite difficult to fit into the toilet (needed lubrication with grease spray), when they finally fit, one of the two simply detached the metal element inside it, making it completely useless. Fortunately, on the other hand, there are aftermarket support systems available at a cost of about 3 € which save the situation.

It has very good supports (rare) which are also easy to install. Quick, easy, and sturdy. The cap easily goes in and out of the supports with a button, and the supports can also be easily disassembled (if needed).

No problem at all with the installation. I didn't struggle with the slots and screws. However, if the toilet bowl is quite wide, the seat may not rest on top (i.e., at a right angle) and gradually come down. Fortunately, in my case, I was able to move the toilet bowl back a bit, so everything is fine. Finally, the rubber pads on mine have wedged properly with the screws, so the seat doesn't move at all during use.

However, it doesn't deserve an excellent rating because the system with the rubber supports is bad.
One went in on the first try and stayed still as it should. I thought, give it another 5 minutes and I'll put in the other one.
Little did I know... After 2-3 hours, I understood what our friends were saying.
The solution I chose was to take the long plastic screw from the old lid and tighten it with the old plastic clip.

The product is good for its price, but it doesn't fit all toilets like mine. The packaging comes with two, let's call them "upas" or more accurately, things that do the job of the "upas" on a wall. When I tried to install them on my toilet, these "upas" had a thickness that didn't match the thickness of my toilet porcelain, so they couldn't pass through the thickness of the toilet and couldn't hold the lid steady because they slipped inside the toilet hole and came out. Excellent product at a good price. Its support is done by hooking it onto elastic wedges, which in some toilets may have elasticity beyond the desired level. I changed the supports that go into the holes of the toilet with screws... they were plastic and not stable, with the slightest movement the lid would change position on the toilet.
The problem was solved with the screws.
