Description

The PROTON S2 is the new "small" Satellite receiver from EDISION with the capability to view DVB-S & DVB-S2 satellite channels. With an upgraded OSD MENU and a new generation processor, it offers you very fast menu and channel switching, while it has a storage capacity of up to 6000 channels. 

The USB WiFi support function gives you access to web applications and, together with the Media Player functions it has, combined with the refined, high-quality 2-in-1 remote control, will make the use of your many favorite functions even more fun and enjoyable. 

Additionally, it also has an IR-in (jack) port for extending remote control reception when the receiver is in an out-of-sight location. Naturally, it is also accompanied by the warranty and support of Edision.

    I decided to replace my edision progressive hd c, which I had for 8 years without any problems, but unfortunately, this specific receiver has been discontinued and there are no more updates. I was looking for a receiver for free channels.
    1. The menu and the remote did not give me any trouble because they are almost the same as the progressive nano c.
    2. Easy channel downloading worked very well with motorized movement.
    3. It has almost all the satellites installed and channels for only 5 satellites.
    4. The picture did not impress me.
    5. On the third day, it had a small freeze and restarted.
    At 25.90, it is good, not more, in my opinion.
    In the future, it will show regarding durability and whether the freezes will continue. I will come back in the future

    When you record a show from a channel and want to watch it from a different point in time while it is still recording, the Proton S2 freezes and you have to unplug it and plug it back in to reset it. I never had such a problem with the Edision Progressiv hd compact for a decade, although I did pay double the price for it and it had a five-year warranty.

    It was purchased to have access to Italian Rai 1,2,3. With the automatic search, it couldn't find them. I managed to find where to enter the correct frequency settings in the menu and then managed to find the channels. I constantly write "managed" because the remote control is peculiar, to put it politely, and the manual is very simple. In the end, all is well that ends well, it definitely worth the money in my case
