What to write about the Magic Mouse, simply Apple... comfortable, lightweight, and essential complement for Macbook. The previous Magic Mouse I had lasted for over 8 years (still working), but I decided to upgrade to the 2nd generation and in black, otherwise I would continue with the old one.
It didn't work for me at all, it's too low and doesn't capture the movements immediately no matter what settings I tried. It takes some time to get used to the touch, but that didn't bother me. It fell down and got some scratches, so if you're a bit careless like me, it's better to get something else. I don't think it's worth the money in terms of functionality. There are mice that are much more valuable at a quarter of the price.
Another overpriced Apple device.
Waste of money.
Just design and nothing else, like the rest of their products that people only buy for prestige and image.
Disappointment.
It does not respond to hand movements.
2. It is not sensitive to movements and makes handling difficult
It does what it promises, but like every Apple product, it is overpriced. At the price it is, the most worthwhile solution is buying a used one through a marketplace. Battery life is not an issue, I've had it for 1 year and I've probably only charged it 3 times from 0-100.
A year after very light use, I uploaded a star because I found out how to make the pointer move correctly on the screen. It takes some time, but you will find it. It is definitely not like the classic mice. I forget to charge it, but as I said, I use it very lightly.
I bought it because the simple one I had was with USB and I had to connect the adapter to the MacBook (USB-C to USB) every time to work. I wanted one with Bluetooth, so I decided to try the Magic Mouse. It hasn't impressed me, it has a strange grip and to move the 'mouse' on the screen, it takes some technique (you have to move your whole hand along with the wrist to make it move, otherwise it goes very slowly or even gets stuck). I don't know, maybe I haven't figured it out yet. Definitely, if I could, I would exchange it for a different brand with Bluetooth.
One of the few Apple products that really need a lot of improvement. There are many users who report that much cheaper and wired mice perform better than Apple's mouse. It's a shame because its design is awesome. However, it is not ergonomic. It is smaller than it should be and the lack of curvature creates a problem after hours of use. The cursor on two different Apple MacBook Pros constantly lags. It doesn't scroll smoothly and many times the mouse freezes. Unacceptable, when mice that cost 12 euros don't do this.
Unfortunately, I have reached the point of using my old wired mouse again and I will put this one up for sale...
Excessively expensive, the second one broke very quickly (left click sticks). Excellent if realistically it had a price of around 50 euros.
I have been using it for a week now. I don't know if it can connect to Android devices, but it is very easy to use for those familiar with the macOS operating system. I think people with large hands won't enjoy it because it's not like traditional mice that fit in the hand. The battery lasts for a long time, even though I have been using it for about a week. Personally, it has been very convenient for me so far as I work long hours on my MacBook and the trackpad of the computer had tired me out at some point. In terms of price, I think it's a bit expensive, but if you try it out in a store and see that it suits your grip, I think it's worth buying. Another big advantage is that it is very aesthetically pleasing and seems relatively durable, at least the base, in case of accidents.
Using it for several hours daily, I have to say that it is uncomfortable and ergonomically unfriendly. My thumb bothers me a lot when I hold it, and I have never experienced this even with very cheap mice. Its battery lasts, and it only charges when it is not being used because the charging port is located underneath the mouse. I don't have any other general issues, but I don't need it either. I am already looking for a new mouse. What a shame.

The most miserable product from Apple. Expensive and non-functional. The worst mouse I have ever bought since 1992. I have no words to describe my frustration. Do not buy it, the cheapest mouse on the market is better than Apple's disgust.
It is the best mouse for office applications! Endless battery, easy to use, and works on both Mac and Windows!
I have been a macbook pro owner for 2 and a half years and I can say that its touchpad is much more convenient than a conventional mouse. You can do so many things that a classic mouse is really useless compared to the touchpad. That's why I wanted to try the magic mouse to see if it's as good as the macbook touchpad.
Indeed, with the magic mouse you can do almost everything you can do with the touchpad, such as switching between workspaces, mission control, zoom, scroll, and right-click. The only thing missing is access to the launchpad (the window that looks like a menu), which can easily be activated by enabling a hot corner.
What surprised me is the acceleration function in Apple's software. Before I got a macbook, I was a Windows user, and in Windows the mouse is simple, the pointer on the screen faithfully follows every movement you make with the mouse, whether the movement is slow or fast, there is no difference.
This does not happen with the mouse in macOS software. What do I mean? The slower your hand movement, the shorter distance the pointer covers on the screen, and the faster and more abrupt your hand movement, the greater distance the pointer will cover. So the sensitivity of the mouse changes according to the speed at which our hand moves.
The same thing happens with the touchpad, but for some reason it seems normal, while with the mouse it seems strange to me. Also, this function gives the feeling that the mouse is slow, which is not exactly the case.
Unfortunately, Apple does not give us the ability to disable mouse acceleration from the settings to make the mouse work like in Windows, but that doesn't mean it can't be disabled.
Disabling it is a very simple process. Open the "Terminal" application (the known command), paste the following text "defaults write .GlobalPreferences com.apple.mouse.scaling -1" and press enter.
That's it, if you don't see any difference, log out or restart your computer.
If you want to re-enable mouse acceleration, follow the same process, but paste the following text in the terminal "defaults write .GlobalPreferences com.apple.mouse.scaling 1".
Personally, I do not consider the mouse's way of operation negative, just as I do not consider macOS's way of operation negative. Windows are completely different from macOS, so there is no reason to compare in this specific matter. For someone who learned with macOS and switched to Windows, the mouse in Windows will obviously be uncomfortable.
In summary, my rating is 4.5/5. The positives are its endless battery life (which simply does not run out), and the build quality. The negatives are that it is not an ergonomic mouse like a gaming mouse, but it is still an apple gem.
Update: (14-07-2024)
Apple (finally) added the option to enable-disable mouse acceleration.
You will find it (very easily) in "System Preferences - Mouse - Advanced - Pointer Acceleration"
It is an integral part now for the iPad Pro, I had a Logitech simple with a USB adapter that I connected to the iPad Pro with USB-A to USB-C, but I couldn't scroll left and right on web pages and apps like Google, Facebook, and wherever it was needed. I had to use my finger on the screen to move left and right... it was frustrating... I searched on YouTube to find the best solution for all apps... the Apple Magic Mouse was the only way to go, everything else malfunctioned... I bought it and I have had it for about 10 days, I have to say that everything works perfectly, it has great sensitivity in movements, very addictive scrolling, it is a bit heavy but it has a perfect battery that lasts over 30 days, it definitely has a slightly hard click but one thing I have to say is that it is a beautiful jewel, even if it may not seem durable to some. Today, 10 minutes ago, it fell from desk height, I tried to catch it in the air, it slipped away and fell flat on the floor on a rough tile... I thought... it's gone, it's in pieces... a rough fall to make somersaults... I pick it up, search it and... it doesn't... have a single scratch on the chassis, not even on the top part, I was amazed... truly exemplary from Apple... the only thing I'm waiting for is for them to add zoom to its functions... which is supported on MacBook. Its rating as a device is 9.5/10, beauty 10/10, portability in a bag 10/10, functionality 9.5/10, I would give it a 10 if it had zoom, durability 10/10, battery 10/10, and overall rating 9.8/10. Really, well done Apple, nice mouse!!! I highly recommend it!!
Very good in terms of usability, it gives you a sense of luxury. It has excellent material quality. From my experience, I would say it is not suitable for gaming, especially for demanding games. It is more suitable for office work and performs better on Apple devices (iMac, iPad, MacBook, etc.).

As for the battery, with regular use throughout the day, I haven't charged it for about 3 weeks. Very good grip and sturdy construction. For someone coming from a different computer environment, it may be a bit difficult to adapt, just like with Apple computers themselves. It connects directly to the computer and responds flawlessly. I don't consider the charging port at the bottom a disadvantage, as I can charge it when I'm not using it.
To start off, let me say that this mouse is not for gaming. And some of you might say, "Wait, why isn't it for gaming? It has two buttons and a scrolling wheel." NO, if you want to get a mouse for gaming, don't even think about it anymore. It won't be comfortable because its design is not suitable for comfortable gaming. This mouse is only meant for OFFICE use, okay, but not for gaming. So let's talk about how good it is for OFFICE use. Initially, it is comfortable and very futuristic. The lack of a scrolling wheel is strange at first, but you get used to it and it becomes perfect and very user-friendly. You feel its quality in your hand, and for those wondering, yes, you have to turn the mouse upside down to charge it. Here, Apple lost the ball a bit, but then found it again...yes, it wasn't formulated the way I wanted, but anyway, they found the ball again when they added fast charging to the mouse. It can charge for 20 minutes and last for 2 weeks!!! Overall, very accurate and very beautiful. I'm not sure if it's worth the money, but if you like Apple, then you will like this mouse
This mouse is a nice gadget to decorate your desk, but in terms of functionality, it is similar or inferior to a good mouse that you already have and may even cost less than 30 euros.
After professional use for 2-3 weeks with 8+ hours per day, I will try to mention the positives and negatives that I found:
Positives:
- Design and appearance superior to the competition
- Excellent build quality
- High-quality battery that lasts long
Negatives:
- It is slow to move the cursor. It is not sensitive enough to movements (which makes it useless for me)
- The touch buttons on the left and right cannot be compared to physical buttons in terms of usability.
- The touch surface, instead of the classic scroll wheel, cannot be compared to the physical scroll wheel in terms of usability.
- The touch surface leads to unintended actions (e.g., going back in the browser because you accidentally swiped your finger on the mouse!)
- The price is too high for what it offers in terms of usability.
Came and tied with the macbook..absolutely satisfied.. usage about 2 hours/day and I don't remember when I last charged it.. quite convenient and didn't encounter any issues with the shape/volume like others.. useful, reliable, a bit expensive (apple), epitome of design and definitely would buy it again..
Very comfortable mouse, lightweight, nice design and its battery lasts for hours. I have been using it daily for 3 years and it works like new. The only downside is that you can't use it while it's charging
It is the best mouse I have ever held in my hands.
Especially if you have any Apple devices such as a MacBook, Mac Mini, iMac, iMac Pro, or Mac Pro, it is a must-have. For those who say it is expensive, I believe it is not true because it is worth the money in terms of its quality.
It is an Apple product, so it couldn't not meet expectations. Of course, it is expensive, like all their products. Plus, it has an amazing design. Slim and user-friendly. Also, once the initial connection is made, it doesn't need to permanently occupy a laptop port like a mouse component - it is completely wireless. However, one downside (and this was very annoying because it is not mentioned anywhere when you purchase it) is that for the initial connection to a Mac, you need to plug in the mouse cable. But Macs don't have a USB port! So, you have to buy an additional accessory to connect it to your Mac, which means extra expenses. The truth is that someone who has a MacBook will eventually buy such an accessory (to connect, for example, an external hard drive), but it's not the same to buy it willingly and gradually in terms of expenses!
4/5 as yes it is impressive and beautiful, but for the money it doesn't make a difference from another brand's mouse.. personally, I like it and bought it, but I don't think it's worth spending so much money on something that you can do more economically. As a mouse, it is sturdy, easily connects to the computer, appears durable, and responds to every movement of the hand.
Update 03/21:
The connectivity of the mouse, even in Windows, is amazing and very fast. Its battery lasts longer than I expected to the point where I go to check after a while and it still has 60-70% battery.. Good build quality despite usage, absolutely no signs of scratches or dents. Fully satisfied
It does exactly what it promises. Just learn the functions with 1 or 2 fingers. Beautiful in design. Slightly heavier compared to other mice.
I have it for about 5 months, I use it for one hour a day and not every day. It is very good in terms of responsiveness and the glass on top, great experience, and fantastic battery life.
Since I got it, I have only charged it once. But you should know that it is very sensitive, the glass scratches easily, it is only suitable for office use.
And if you are not using it in an office and you are, for example, on the couch, after an hour of continuous use, your wrist starts to hurt. In an office, in straight use, it is okay.
I got the black one and the space gray is fantastic compared to the white, but it's a matter of taste.
The truth is, with this money, you can get something much better, but it's a matter of personal preference.
As for the mornings, it satisfies me in terms of very good performance and appearance and reputation.
Beautiful innovative mouse like most company products, however it was sensitive to Win10 and took time to get used to it. Now on MacOS with the advantage of the gestures they have in the company's operating system, we go to another level from the classic mouse features.
The battery has tremendous autonomy, however, as mentioned, when it needs charging, you can't use it. Error! Finally, the sound of the keys is annoying and tiring for long hours of work.
Update 06.2021: For an additional 10 euros, I purchased a user license for the BetterTouchTool application. An incredible application! Now with a left tap, I perform a left click and vice versa. The application has many options. In conclusion, I spent nearly 90 euros in total to have a mouse that doesn't exist, that's the truth! I only click when I need to move a window and now it's finally... silent!
Excellent grip in the hand, however, disconnections are observed between non-Apple devices. For example, there is no issue between iPad and MacBook Pro. On Windows laptops, synchronization must be done every time it is used. In general, like all Apple devices, it is a bit expensive, but you pay for what you get, in terms of build quality and appearance.
It breaks very easily, and the batteries run out very quickly. Plus, it connects and disconnects on its own.
I bought this specific mouse in space gray color out of necessity since all my other devices are Apple and it works harmoniously. It has good quality construction but it takes 2 weeks to get used to it, especially if you come from Razer and Corsair. It is responsive in movements and has nice gestures, however, it is not very comfortable, if you have a large palm you will struggle to grip it. The battery lasts for more than 3 weeks. Overall, it is not worth its price, especially the space gray color, but it is a one-way street if you have an Apple ecosystem.
