    I have no idea how this thing has such good reviews when it is so terrible for the basic job it was made for.

    First of all, it only works with thick/large slices of bread for toast. With smaller ones, it just warms the bread around. Overall, its surface area is very small and its plates are very low.

    Yes, it is cheap, but for the same price, I had bought a B&D which did the same job with lower watts.

    Stay away!

    The toast is cooked so quickly that even if you delay for half a minute, it will burn. And precisely because it cooks quickly, it burns more on the outside.
