Description

In an isolated village in Karpathos, in Verst, strange things start happening: smoke occasionally comes out of the chimney of a deserted, half-ruined tower, located on a hill above the village, the bell rings in its church, and other things that make the residents of the area consider it haunted.

The forester Nick Dek and the doctor Patak pay dearly for their attempt to solve the mystery.

But what is the connection between the young Count Franz de Telek, the singer Stila, and the haunted tower? Who is the eccentric Baron Rodolpho de Gortz? Or the mad scientist Orfanik?

Another novel by the famous French author where thrilling adventure combines with unparalleled descriptive power and fertile scientific imagination.

Very interesting story that keeps you in suspense until the end. It doesn't give the feeling of being outdated. Perhaps the descriptions at the beginning are a bit tiring.
