This book focuses on Developmental Language Disorder, which is treated as a neurodevelopmental disorder. It addresses issues related to the clinical definition of the disorder and explores its genetic and neurological background. It presents the linguistic and cognitive characteristics of children with Developmental Language Disorder as well as the clinical manifestation of this disorder in the contemporary multilingual environment. It also examines the relationship between this disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders and discusses comorbidity issues. This project is aimed at researchers in language pathology, clinical professionals, as well as readers with no prior knowledge or experience in the subject of language disorders, as it attempts to present current research questions and the (often different) answers provided by the research community of experts. It seeks to convey the findings of interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research conducted in this field, and therefore expects scientific heterogeneity in the readership of the book.
