Description
Myths, they say, are made to be demystified; however, the sexual myth collapses today literally, due to the lack of imagination and erotic passion. Modern man desperately seeks his sexual role, mechanically and technically, in order to be sexually fulfilled, but ignoring his needs as a psychosomatic being. The result is nothing but the exaggeration of any problem and, ultimately, the disruption of communication between the two partners in their relationship or marriage - a disruption that, unfortunately, often has disastrous consequences. The aim of this book (the first Greek book in the field of Sexology) is to set up a mirror in front of the reader, where everyone can see what sex represents for themselves, both as an expression and as a sensation, but also which factors, from a source of pleasure, turn it into a source of problems. The information it provides is exclusively drawn from the scientifically acceptable realm of knowledge. That is why it demystifies all those taboos and "interpretations" that yesterday has managed to pass even in our era, burdening men and women with guilt and prejudices, and casting upon them the shadow of failure and rejection.

A beautifully written book that breaks all the taboos surrounding sex in the unique and established way of Dr. Thanos Askitis. The language used by the author is excellent, although it becomes a bit difficult to understand in some parts and requires a little more attention from the reader. Nevertheless, he definitely knows how to write and express himself excellently.
In this work, you will learn everything you would like to know about sex in modern society. The sexual behavior of both men and women, as well as the ultimate union of the two, is extensively analyzed. There is also a relatively small but comprehensive reference to the serious issue of "Sex in the Third Age". At the end of the book, there is an extensive appendix with images, diagrams, and text related to the psychosexual union of the two partners. Common problems that may arise are briefly presented, as well as their solutions.
It is a well-organized and structured book. It is also written with sensitivity and not crudeness. The only flaw that someone could find is the somewhat poor softcover edition. Poor, of course, not in terms of binding and paper quality, but rather from an aesthetic point of view. However, let us not forget that it is one of the author's first works and such a thing is justified. His subsequent works from Livani Publishing are clearly more attractive and well-crafted in terms of material.
"Sex: The Myth, the Problems, and its Approach Today" is a writing that every person interested in exploring human sexuality should not miss. It is a wonderful introductory book on human sexuality and the relationships between the two genders. I highly recommend it to everyone.
