In a Li Li Airmen Mini case with an i5-12600K during the summer with 40 degrees Celsius outside, it runs idle at 32 to 33 degrees and reaches a maximum of 57-60 degrees while gaming. During the winter, I have seen it idle below 20 degrees. However, all of this also depends on how you have built your rig.   Buy it with your eyes closed if you don't want to install liquid cooling. I had previously installed a Cooler Master ML360 liquid cooler and within a year the pump failed. The Ryzen 5600X reached 80 degrees Celsius and it was generally noisy. A triple fan cooler is not worth it, guys. Noctua offers the best air cooling with idle temperatures at 32 degrees Celsius, which is the same as when I had the liquid cooler, and maximum temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius during gaming. It is also much quieter, with less noise compared to liquid cooling. It requires a large case, I have it installed in the H500P Mesh White and it fits perfectly, with enough space for everything and good airflow. It has two 200mm fans in the front, one 140mm fan at the back, and two 120mm fans on top. The case is a beast!

  On an I7-5820K @ 4.3GHz AIDA 64 EXTREME FPU ONLY TEST -> 90C CPU 95 PACKAGE.... at 100%.
  And even with NT-H2 thermal paste, which is the best available.
  It also slightly interferes and annoys me.
  Its real TDP limit for comfortable cooling at around 70C with a temperature of about 26C is 150W TDP.
  It doesn't handle well when the computer reaches 180.

  I installed it on a 10-year-old computer with liquid cooling that was malfunctioning in the last semester. From 80 - 90 degrees with liquid cooling, it immediately dropped to 40 - 45 degrees with the Noctua!

  The installation is very easy.. Opening, cleaning old paste and dust, uninstalling liquid cooling and installing the Noctua took me about 20 minutes.

But what's the point when you have a big GPU that raises it to 95 degrees, it's a one-way street to custom water cooling and that's what I did and the results are a CPU at 5ghz + 2080 super at 2150ghz never going above 70. I have the Meshify C case from Fractal Design (which is quite open from all sides) and I don't hear anything when it's next to me. When you open a game, it starts working but it is completely normal and not bothersome for me. Also, I should mention that the Meshify C can fit a second 140mm fan with G.skill RAM (which is considered not very low profile) as long as you "slide the fan a bit further out" and everything is fine.

  First, I will talk about the cooler. Yes, it is bulky and one should check if it fits in the case they have or plan to buy before purchasing. However, this is not a negative thing. On the contrary. The cooler is truly a "gem" in my opinion and adds a different dimension to the whole build, especially if you have a case with a side window! As for its performance, simply PERFECT! I have it on top of an i9 11900k in a case with good airflow (3 Noctua 140mm chromax black fans for intake and another three for exhaust, along with an additional Noctua 120mm Chromax Black) and the temperature of the processor does not rise more than 2-3 degrees higher than the ambient temperature in the worst-case scenario when rendering. Usually, it is only 1 degree higher than the ambient temperature! And this is while running heavy programs (such as SolidWorks). As for noise, you simply can't hear it! NOCTUA has worked wonders in this area. As for the reliability of Noctua products, they are simply EXEMPLARY. Choose it not only over any other air cooling solution but also over any liquid cooling solution! Don't risk any potential failure of liquid cooling in your computer. Based on previous experience, Noctua products are truly for a lifetime!

  Let's move on to the support, both from NOCTUA and the representative company in our country, CHECKMATE: SIMPLY PERFECT IN EVERY ASPECT! Let me explain. I bought the cooler and in my excitement to complete the assembly of my PC, I threw away the various boxes and two out of the four metal clips that hold the fans on the cooler.   Ryzen 5 3600x on Asus ROG Strix B450-F - room temperature around 28-30C:
  - with stock cooler: idle temps ~50C with spikes close to 60C and torture test prime95 (Blend all) 89-90C and above
  - with Noctua NH-D15: idle temps ~35C without spikes and torture test prime95 (Blend all) 78C max

  That's about performance. I think the numbers say it all.

  Installation: extremely easy if you're coming from a stock cooler Ryzen. It installs on the AMD backplate with a total of 6 screws. The whole process is a walk in the park, as they say in my village.
  I should also mention that Noctua sends a free mounting kit for new sockets, which means that especially with Intel changing sockets every 2 hours, you can easily request them to send you the compatible kit. I don't know any other company that does this!

  Noise: one of the most pleasant air coolers in terms of noise that I have tested. At 100% the fans can be heard, but the frequency is more "bass", so it doesn't bother even after a long time.

  Negatives: size is a problem with many coolers. Like for example with the Arctic Freezer 50, if someone has RAM with a height of more than about 32 millimeters (something quite common now due to heatsink/RGB, etc.) and all the slots are occupied, the second (side) fan will have to be placed in a slightly higher position. Unfortunately, theoretically there will be a very small loss in performance and it may not fit in some cases, so it requires a little research before purchasing.

  To not drag it on any longer, Noctua is a guarantee in the field and this particular model has been the benchmark for what a good cooler means for over 7 years, while surpassing most AIOs. If you do a little research on the topic of RAM and dimensions and you're okay with it, there is nothing better.

  Coming from the NH-U12S, I was fully satisfied with Noctua: build quality, performance, low noise, appearance, and customer service (with the parent company through their website) which I needed once and they were really impeccable.

  Having upgraded from the R7 3800X to the R9 5900X, I felt that I needed to improve my cooling accordingly. Theoretically, the NH-U12S is sufficient for the 5900X as both processors have a TDP of 105, but after extensive research, I found that the 5900X runs quite hot and requires a correspondingly powerful cooling solution. So, I ended up with the NH-D15 Chromax.

  And indeed, this processor starts fires! Not so much in stress tests, where it stays around 75-76 degrees, but mainly in single-threaded tasks and gaming, where it spikes to 80-85 degrees easily! AMD, of course, states that these temperatures up to 90-95 degrees are considered normal behavior for the processor and will not affect its lifespan. But, of course, there was no way I would run my processor at such high temperatures!

  So, coming back to the cooler, it is the best substitute (and often better) than any liquid cooling solution, and of course, much more cost-effective than a 240-360mm AIO. There are numerous tests from reliable sources that prove this. Specifically, with the 5900X, when PBO is enabled, the processor "asks" for more power as long as there is thermal headroom, and I see it easily reaching up to 5.1 GHz, while when it approaches its limits, it sticks to 4.5-4.6 GHz. So far, I haven't had any issues with thermal throttling.

  It is, of course, a fully quality build, as one would expect from this company. The packaging includes everything you need for installation (even a screwdriver and thermal paste), and personally, I found it very easy to install, unlike some friends who struggled a bit. The only thing you might need to disconnect temporarily is the GPU to have a little more space to move freely inside the case.

  As for the downsides, it is quite expensive for an air cooler, but I believe it is worth it for what you get. However, its biggest drawback is its size. It is truly huge, and before making a purchase, make sure to check the specifications and dimensions on the Noctua website. They are all very detailed. After that, take out the measuring tape and measure your PC! The main issue you might have is its height. There is a possibility that if your case is not deep enough, the cooler will hit the side panel and not close properly. As for the RAM, the front fan can be positioned higher to accommodate them. My RAM (G.Skill Ripjaws V) didn't fit, but the fan can be easily adjusted. However, this depends on the RAM and motherboard you are using each time.

  Overall, I am very satisfied with the product and, of course, I recommend it. But I believe it is mainly aimed at friends with larger cases that can accommodate its size.

  Unfortunately for me, things did not go well with this specific cooler. Coming from a Cryorig H7 that cost 40€ to something that costs 100€, I expected better results. I installed the cooler around 10 times because I thought I was doing something wrong, but every time I had the same result.
  Cryorig H7 with i5 10600k at 4.5ghz stock reached a maximum of 80 degrees according to hardware monitor.
  Noctua NH-D15, again at 4.5ghz, reached a minimum of 75 degrees out of the 10 times I tested it.
  I can say that the Noctua was slightly noisier, not by much, but its presence was definitely more noticeable. Of course, the tests were done with the Noctua's thermal paste as well as with MX4 and the Cinebench R20 benchmark.
  I will investigate further because it still doesn't make sense to me why a cooler like this would have such performance.

  By far the best CPU air coolers.

  The NH-D15 is the best performing cooler from Noctua.
  It is quite bulky. But the silence it provides, and its cooling performance that surpasses everything beyond custom built high-end watercooling loops, is something else.
  You can cool even the hottest processors quietly, even with the fans running at 35-40% of their speed.
  If you upgrade to a newer processor and socket... no problem, Noctua will send you a free mounting bracket for your new motherboard.
  Their after-sales support simply doesn't exist.

  Don't think too much... if you want performance in overclocking CPU and at the same time... your peace and quiet, a big Noctua like the NH-D15, NH-D14, U12S, etc. will make you happy!   The best of the best. I will never buy liquid cooling again, except for the fact that it doesn't fit in the case of such a large air cooler.

  I had the Corsair H80, it presented a problem and I switched to the Corsair H100, which was showing its age (~8 years). Unfortunately, as expected, the pump failed. It made a very annoying noise in all profiles (Low-Mid-High) and no longer had the temperatures it used to have. It would reach around 45C on idle and 95C under stress on an i7 2600K. Unfortunately, AIOs are not like custom loops where you can easily change the liquid or pump. I decided to switch to an air cooler after seeing that generally, liquid coolers last for a few years and then need to be replaced.

  I am satisfied, it is much quieter and has better temperatures than when the liquid cooling was brand new. Also, the fans it comes with are the best I have used so far. (Even the "Noctua" sticker included in the packaging is metallic, not like other cheap plastic ones. It seems that they pay attention to detail, I will definitely choose Noctua again.)

  Noctua NH-D15 is also used by the guy from PC Steps, as far as I know. (You know, the one with the slippers.)

  P.S. Noctua is more efficient when it blows the air backwards (horizontally), not upwards (vertically) as shown in the photo.
  P.S. If you use liquid cooling, the CPU block should not be lower than the radiator, otherwise air bubbles can get trapped inside, resulting in inefficient cooling and improper lubrication of the pump with the liquid (it circulates in the air), causing the pump to fail faster.
