The first one I bought about a year ago is great, with light usage.
The light in the photo works, so it has satisfactory aesthetics (indifferent, but since it works well, I washed it).
The application of the hard drive (2.5) is comfortable (I have seen it with my own eyes...).
It has a single cable and not those nonsense ones that have double on one end and single on the other.
Indeed, it is USB3 and performs well in terms of speed.
Good purchase
It does not work on USB 3 ports. So on USB 2.0 43MB/s Read and 20MB/s Write on SSD. I don't know if I have a defective one.
Using an SSD connected to SATA 3 gives Sequential Read 513 MB/s and Write 509 MB/s, but when connected to this enclosure, it gave Sequential Read 361 MB/s and Write 59 MB/s.
Today I just got it myself, I give it 5 stars because for the 14 euros I got it, it is perfect! It does its job as it should!
However, I want to find a longer connecting cable because this one is too small!
This is the model IB-273StU3-B, it is SATA III 6Gbit/s and has UASP.
Positives: aluminum bottom cover, nice blue LED light, no disk capacity limitation, useful carrying case (made of leather), UASP, good price (under 15 euros).
Average: Typical build quality.
The plastic disk carrier (with the USB 3.0 interface on the outside and SATA on the inside) has holes for disk mounting screws (screws for the disk are not provided, use M2X2.5mm or equivalent for HDD). The screwdriver included in the packaging belongs to the "toys" category - not tools, but it gets the job done once. If you have a better screwdriver, use it. Do not tighten the small black screws too much, which are intended for the small plastic side cover, they may strip.
To investigate: The product was probably faulty. It gave unacceptable speeds when copying large files from PC to the Raidsonic Icy Box IB-273StU3-B, on Windows 10 (x64 mainly but also x86 on other PCs), with USB 3.0 port and specifically with Intel (R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller (port on my laptop).
Laptop specifications: HP 250 G4 6200u, 8GB, Samsung 850Evo SSD.
The copy started at high speed, then dropped to zero and the copy froze. It seemed like it ran out of buffer and got stuck (?).
With USB 2.0 & 3.0 port and/or Windows XP to 7 (on other systems), it behaved like a typical enclosure and had typical USB 2.0 & 3.0 speeds, respectively.
In general, sometimes it worked properly on USB 2.0, sometimes it worked slowly on USB 3.0, and sometimes the laptop froze during the copy of large 1GB files (sometimes with freezes for 5 minutes or more(!), which led to frustration for me and a hard reset for the laptop).
After many tests and cable swaps, different disks, different PCs, and operating systems, I found a similar review of another company's enclosure with UASP controller: erratic performance (3/5 stars customer review of external enclosure 2.5 case with UASP), which describes what happens approximately (without the freezes). Proceed with caution.
Very bad. After 3 months of use, the contact broke and I had to shake it to connect, until it eventually stopped working. I do not recommend it.
I expected much better in terms of appearance and usability... it is more "plastic" than it seems (although this is its small problem). The main negative is the connectivity (at least in mine). The USB on the side that connects to the PC does not make a good connection, I have to apply it a little further out in the port, and generally with small movements of the cable, it easily disconnects. In short, you should not touch it at all when it is in use...

It worked from the first moment with a Seagate disk inside. I don't feel any disk vibration when I hold it. There is a noticeable difference in speed between USB 2 and USB 3.
I have the case for 3-4 years and it works flawlessly.
It does what it is intended for, I have been using the product for quite some time (around 3 years).
I faced the same problem as the user below, after 6 months the USB connection broke
