A fantastic novel that I didn't want to put down or finish! <3

  • The book is very nice. It immerses you directly into the world and the nice thing is that the world consists of places that people pass through every day. It is interesting with a nice plot that combines the supernatural with the everyday way of life of a Greek. I recommend it to readers of this genre of books because they will have a nice experience.

I bought the book day 1 to support Anatolitis (I knew him as a stand-up comedian and from the podcast Marmelada Fraoula).
The book was excellent and it builds a very nice trilogy (unfortunately a trilogy and not more books).
We are waiting for the continuation!

I bought the book without knowing its plot. I loved it. I liked the combination of the supernatural with Thessaloniki. I love supernatural elements, monsters, magic, etc., and it was a beautiful experience to see them evolve in my city. Reading references to places, smells, and ways of life that are familiar to me, without having to imagine something foreign, was great. The language is simple and everyday, with plenty of colloquial expressions. Overall, I felt very close to the book and I can't wait to read the next one.

First of all, I have to say that I started the book with low expectations and I read it because I knew the author from his other works and not the writing. It pleasantly surprised me.
Well-written story, narrated in two timelines, giving you the opportunity to get all the information you need about the characters' backstory without getting bored at any point.
Characters that are well-developed so that there are no gaps in the story.
The story has a very good flow, at the end of each chapter it "pulls" you to start the next chapter and overall it is easy to read (it won't bore you).
Overall, I would say it is a very good work that has nothing to envy from the works of foreign authors in the same category. I would definitely read the rest of the series.
For anyone who enjoys the combination of action, supernatural, and maybe a little mystery, I consider it a choice that will not disappoint!

Continuous alternation of scenes and eras that keeps you alert. It might make you get lost between the timeline and the characters if you leave it and pick it up again after a few days, but it maintains the balance so well that you get immersed as soon as you continue. This leap between former, past, and present era may seem strange, but you understand that if everything unfolded in chronological order, it would be very boring. Now, you become one with the character and discover alongside them at every step. It is the first part of an upcoming trilogy, and although it is complete on its own, once you finish it, you can't wait for the next one to come out!

  • First, let me say that I bought the book without expecting to like it. I just wanted to support Anatolitis because he is one of my favorite comedians, maybe also because when I heard the performance "Battles with Fairies" that I bought for 5€ from Band-camp, I felt like I had stolen Stelios.
Now, about the book. It pleasantly surprised me, a well-written story with a lot of interest and cleverly divided into two parallel narrations of the past and the present, which to be honest, I didn't see the reason for at first, but as the story progressed, the necessity became apparent. Unexpectedly "real" for a story with vampires, werewolves, and other monsters. Interesting characters, even the "secondary" ones (I was saddened by Stelios). The only negative, which may be due to the fact that I'm not used to stories with fast action scenes, is that I got lost in the first battles and had to go back several times.

It is a very nice book about the neighborhoods of Thessaloniki and beyond. You will love the characters and its plot that takes you from the present to the past. You will love it if you are a person who reads fantasy literature and books that have characteristics from Harry Potter. Stelios Anatolitis is not an old and well-known author, but he will definitely become one. Get it, it really deserves it!
